If you have decided to ride the Brevet 300 on Saturday (June 6), please inform us by email at info@audax.lv, you will be met at the start and finish, all checkpoints will have to be checked-in on eBrevet (time tracker) system using our website, the checkpoint in Ķeipene will be without support (on Saturday).

Event Overview

Dreaming of completing your first 300km brevet but not sure where to start? This is the one. Or maybe you already know the drill chasing RRtY, PBP qualification, or another streak. Either way, this ACP-certified 300km route delivers. Set against the beautiful landscapes of Vidzeme and beyond, the terrain is steadily rolling to hilly — with 632m of climbing per 100km (1,895m total), it rewards climbing legs and descending confidence without crossing into mountainous territory.

With a generous 20-hour time limit, clearly marked checkpoints, and honest elevation, first-timers get the structure they need, while veterans get pure self-supported brevets as they're meant to be: no convoy, no handholding, just you, your bike, and the quiet Latvian roads after midnight. Whether you're ticking off a personal goal or riding your own race, this ride will welcome you, challenge you, and change you.

300km Brevet | Ķeipene | LV
Date: Saturday, June 6, 2026 • Start Time: 08:00
Start Location: Upesciems (Skolas iela 8 - car park)

This 300km route is an official ACP-certified brevet designed for experienced cyclists seeking a structured and rewarding adventure. The ride follows randonneuring principles—self-supported, with checkpoints to validate your progress. Participants must be self-sufficient, managing their own nutrition, mechanical issues, and navigation using the provided GPX track.

The Challenge: A 300km Journey

Terrain & Elevation
This is not a flat course. With 1,895 meters of climbing across 300km, the terrain will test your climbing legs and descending confidence. While not mountainous, the elevation profile provides a solid, honest workout without being extreme.

Time Limit
Participants have 20 hours to complete the full distance. This time limit includes all stops—you'll need to manage your pace, breaks, and checkpoint arrivals carefully to finish within the allowed time. We recommend planning your strategy in advance, including estimated arrival times at each checkpoint.

Self-Supported Philosophy
This is a self-supported ride with no following vehicle. You'll need to manage your own:

  • Nutrition & Hydration — carry enough or plan resupply stops
  • Mechanical Issues — bring tools and know basic repairs
  • Navigation — use the provided GPX file (.fit) on a GPS device or cycling computer
  • Safety Equipment — mandatory lights, helmet, and reflective vest

Participants are encouraged to help each other, but official support vehicles will not be available on the route.

🧠 Mental Preparation (300km)

Mental preparation is just as important as physical training for long-distance cycling. Here are specific strategies to help you succeed in your 300km brevet.

Mindset for 300km

The 300km brevet tests both physical endurance and mental stamina. You'll face moments of doubt — here's how to overcome them.

Segment Strategy

Break the ride into 75km segments. Between 200-250km, you'll face the greatest mental challenge. Plan a longer break with warm food at this point to reset mentally.

Manage Night Riding

If you start early, you may finish in darkness or ride through sunset. Prepare mentally for reduced visibility. Trust your lights and focus on the beam ahead, not the darkness beyond.

Embrace Discomfort

Accept that discomfort is part of the experience. Instead of fighting it, acknowledge it: "My legs are tired, and that's okay. I can keep moving." This acceptance reduces mental resistance.

Social Connection

Ride with others when possible. Shared suffering becomes camaraderie. Brief conversations at checkpoints can recharge your mental batteries.

Checkpoint Rewards

Create small mental rewards at each checkpoint (a favorite snack, a few minutes off the bike, checking social media). These micro-rewards maintain motivation.

Remember: Your body can handle more than your mind believes. When you think you're done, you're only 40% done mentally. The finish line exists — keep moving toward it.

"The body achieves what the mind believes." — Anonymous Randonneur
